MAYFIELD GIN

A DIABOLICALLY DELECTABLE gin from the home of the good Saint Dunstan.

It's time for a tale of some very fine gin...

Our story starts on a single farm in East Sussex, where columns of hops rise to the sky. We harvest those hops, dry them in our oast house, and distil them in a copper pot still.  The twist: We then distill and infuse it with 7 natural botanicals - juniper - lemon peel - orange peel - coriander - Angelica - liquorice and orris.

Created by James Rackham, founder of artisanal spirits company, Emporia Brands, liveryman of  The Worshipful Company of Distillers and resident of Mayfield, East Sussex. The dramatic label depicts the story of St. Dunstan & The Devil an epic event which the story goes happened in the 10th Century in Mayfield Village. Our hops were discovered as a local wild hop growing in hedge rows and is now cultivated in just one acre of a thirty acre hop farm in Salehurst. Sussex hop now an approved variety gives an amazing citrus as well as a hop character to our fabulous Sussex gin.

Nose: An enticing zesty citrus nose leads the way.

Palate: While on the palate there is more of the same with a pure, pine-and-spice juniper heart. The hops provide a floral note with a delicious subtle sweet bitterness and an elegant finish.
